A Random Act of Kindness: Taxes
Small acts can go a long way. I had just found out that we had gotten
some bad advice regarding tax liability and was hoping that a phone call
to the IRS was going to help me find a way to make it livable.
Depressed about the whole thing I decided I deserved a break and stopped
at the local Starbucks. I went through the drive thru and got to the
window only to find out that I didn't owe a thing the person in front of
me had paid with a random act of kindness. The act brought me back to
reality and what is really important, what we do for each other in this
life. Money is a necessary evil and I am really grateful to this person
for showing me that it is not everything. It made my day and I am no
longer worried about the taxes it's only money, it will be worked out,
things could be so much worse than having to pay more than I expected.
And of course I paid for the car behind me and hopefully made there day
a little better too.
