Continuation of Unity.

There is not a single raindrop that takes responsibility for the flood. We all need each other; the act of one is not enough to make everything perfect. The death of Jesus still requires us to choose our salvation and to take up our cross and follow him.

Humans were made to be together because we need others to compensate for our weakness. Often when we pray to God for empowerment, or help in our need, it doesn't magically appear. However, God answers us with his people - who donate, lend a helping hand, and give ears to listen. All it takes is another for comfort. It takes two for a partnership and the more there are the stronger the faith and the stronger the potential of inciting change. It's all over the bible.

"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." ~ Ecclesiastes 4:12

"For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." ~ Matthew 18:20

"The Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone." ~ Genesis 2:18

"Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body--whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free--and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. Now if the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?"
~ 1 Corinthians 12:12-18

The bible uses the analogy of a body. We are made from an atom count so large to form one being. We are made of a trillion cells that have various functions. Those cells then form into different core structures: bones, organs, nerves, veins. Then each structure works in combination to make a system like the respiratory, digestive, nervous etc. But then the systems come together in perfect coordination for us to live. How complex the human body is! We as God's people are the same. We form one church, one people. It branches out into countries, and churches all over the world, and from the churches into ministries, and the ministries into individual believers. We each are like a cell among the body of Christ, and it is our job to work together to maintain the vitality of the body. If even a single organ fails to function in the body - the body is not in it's full condition. It cannot function as it once was. It takes a single cancer cell to take over others and soon spread around the whole body.

This is exactly what unity is. Harmony among each other. We work together with great joy, settling disputes with respect and functioning as the church that God intended for us to be. We represent God's great love and purpose because we share the same goal of loving this world and serving the God who gave his only son for us. We have grace towards one another and towards others, and testify the goodness of God in our actions.

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you…” ~ John 15:12

"This is what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers." 1 John 3:16

Non-Christians do not evaluate the bible but they evaluate the Christians. How we act dictates their perception of God and they can either witness amazing grace or resent us due to our hypocrisy seen all around in judgmental Christians today. It takes the few cancer like 'Christians,' to ruin the image of the church that others may so faithfully uphold. That is why unity is important. With unity the small faith of a mustard seed that we each possess to move mountains can be combined to move the world.

"If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come." ~ Mark 3:25-26

"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." ~ Ephesians 4:29

So let us share our lives together, loving one another, creating the world that we would like to live in and to pick each other up when we fall. Understanding each other, caring for one another and putting our brothers and sisters above ourselves. A church that is composed of an unshakeable unity will never falter. Unity starts with you.

"The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!" On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for' each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it." ~ 1 Corinthians 12:21-26

"By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another". ~ John 13:35
