Towards a God Direction

What's impossible with men, is possible for God.

We come across so many hard decisions, and we never know which choice is the right choice. What if we get convicted over the wrong choice? What if what I always wanted is what I shouldn't be wanting this whole time? There is always one right choice in this world and we know that the choice that will always be right is God. Tough decisions cannot be made by simple intuition on the spot. Feeling like doing something is not the same as knowing what to do. If we know what God's will for us is, isn't our whole life set? We'll know exactly what we need to do, what is ahead of us, and we'll just do it. Easy.

Unfortunately for us, that is the hardest part. Fortunately for us, God knows his will for us, and there's no disputing it. What God wants to happen, I'm sure happens. Regardless of the way we are, God is there for us. All we need to do is just listen and abide by him. It's like having a father guide his child along the road. If the child takes his hand away and runs, how do he follow his father? In the same way God reaches out his hand, he never forces us to take it, but nevertheless, it's always there. It's our choice to reach out, to search, to pray, and to continue following him. We take his hand, and though things may try to pull us away, God is strong enough to pull us out. We just have to keep holding on.

That's how it is. A split path comes along our road; we don't know left from right, and even where we want to end up. Then God lights the way. He lights the way if you ask him, and you should. When you make decisions, never consider what will benefit you the most straightaway. Determine what God wants for you and what is best for his kingdom. That kingdom one day, will belong to us too. Heirs to the inheritance given to us through Jesus Christ. A gift of eternal life, and heaven on earth. Choose God.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
Matthew 6:25-34
